Sylvain Picard – Airs à faire frire

“Guitarist Sylvain Picard has a sense of humour and a perennial vision of music on Airs à faire frire. The colourful title is a invitation to explore the universe of guitarists Bill FrisellCarlos Santana (70s period), Nguyen Le and other jazz/rock inspirations, without copying.

Surrounded by bassist Mathieu Descheneaux and drummer Charles DuquetteSylvain Picard has a powerful message, likes to explore, his music is percussive, and his compositions fit perfectly. In a intelligent collage of soundscapes and ambiances : Hyperformance, l’Automne du cœur, Vol de Nuit, and of course, Airs à faire frire, jazz is creative in a beautiful way.”

«Sylvain PIcard’s trio presents Airs à faire frire Québécois jazz, which is excellent.

The compositions are a little abstract. It’s totally my kind of jazz. It is someone who has a delicate touch and who has an intimate grasp of the knowledge of the guitar neck.

Great album
